Bahya Oumlil-Murad

 

 

Bahya Oumlil-Murad, founder and publisher of SF Philanthropist, is an event and public relations consultant who extensively worked in event planning, charitable fundraising and public relations, giving her insights to many philanthropists and non-profit organizations

Bahya completed a degree in Organizational Communications and Event Planning. She was offered the opportunity to work at Stanford University External Relations where she assisted with maintaining and fostering the image of Stanford Law School as well as the planning of high-end events, including conferences, alumni galas, Dean’s dinners and receptions.

In 2006, Bahya joined the San Francisco City Hall Events Department team to oversee various large-scale events, such as the openings of the San Francisco Ballet, the San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Opera. She worked closely with several corporates, social clienteles and non-profit organizations, including the San Francisco International Film Festival, Bank of America and Google.

Since she left City Hall, Bahya has been focusing on charitable giving. She made her knowledge and expertise available to many non-profit organizations among which the Academy of Friends, Aids Emergency Fund and the St Francis Foundation. Bahya is currently co-chairing the highly successful This Old Bag: the Power of the Purse benefitting Breast Cancer Emergency Fund and sits on various non-profits organizations committees including the San Francisco Red Cross Bay Area Chapter, the San Francisco Symphony Black & White Ball and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year Campaign.

Her charitable work has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, 7x7 Magazine, Nob Hill Gazette, Haute Living Magazine, San Francisco Luxury Living, NBC News, ABC View from the Bay, and more.
