On Thursday, October 13, 2011, Mansour, the world’s finest purveyor of antique, museum-quality rugs, carpets and tapestries, hosted the official grand opening of Mansour|Mansour Modern in San Francisco. The grand opening marks the premiere hybrid showroom of Mansour and Mansour Modern, representing the next evolution for the esteemed brand. Over 600 guests gathered in the San Francisco Design Center to celebrate the evening and enjoy the art gallery-style showroom and couture rug collection.

Mansour sets the bar high in its approach to contemporary designs. Throughout the years, Mansour, a family-run company based out of London and Los Angeles, has established a legacy of luxury. The esteemed house of Mansour is the purveyor of the world’s largest and finest collection of fine antique rugs and tapestries. Patriarch, Mansour Soleimani launched the London showroom of his family’s storied business in 1984. For over four generations the Soleimani family has worked tirelessly to establish Mansour as peerless in its industry. Mansour has become synonymous with quality and authenticity, and takes pride in being known as the very ‘best of the best’. Mansour has showrooms in Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. Enchanting guests with a candle-lit, modern, all-white décor, and exquisitely bloomed Casa Blanca Lilies, Thursday’s gala boasted elegance and superior decadence. San Francisco’s finest enjoyed an interactive, high-energy evening featuring a delicious feast and libations from Bahador Gourmet Catering, and a preview of Mansour|Mansour Modern’s unique rug collection. During the evening, Soleimani took a moment to thank the guests and kick-off the silent auction, featuring a wool and silk Fenix design from Soleimani’s Chinois collection, with the proceeds benefitting the Children of Shelters organization.

Children of Shelters’ mission is to provide for the education and emotional needs of the estimated 4,000 children living in or being served by transitional shelters in San Francisco. As advocates of the children, we are committed to addressing both their basic and more in-depth needs. By funding tutoring, activities that enhance self-esteem, and college tuition assistance, ours grants support their academic achievements and character development. Ultimately, we believe education and self-esteem are keys to breaking the cycle of poverty for children.
